GTLWorkshop

The GTL Workshop team is proud to announce the Power&Glory official forum, hosted by SimRacing Mirror Zone!
SimRacing Mirror Zone (SRMZ.net) is run by the same great guys that run the GPLrepository forums. They have always supported us on their servers and now they have given us the control we need to run an official forum dedicated to Power&Glory mod.

GTLWorkshop members are all enthusiast of vintage racing and most of them started their simracing careers with GPL. Our modding idols are folks like GPLEA and the latest mod65. Even though we mod for another platform, we think our place is where GPL enthusiasts are and there is no better place than the GPLrepository forums and SimRacing Mirror Zone.

While we have always been close to the community on various forums, kindly provided to us by great simracing communities like NoGripRacing and RSC, we simply can't keep up with the big number of simracers that are using Power&Glory, without a proper forum and subforums organized by us. We will continue to follow the other forums as much as possible, but our focus will now be on our main forum.

So visit our official forums, the party has just began and today we have plenty of happenings!

The March issue of AutoSimSport is out, which includes their 2008 Simracing Awards.
Guess who won?
That's right, yet another top simracing publication gives Power&Glory v2.0 the best mod award for 2008!
On page 159, their words not ours:

If it wasn't for our Best Sim Of The Year 2008, this would rate as the best simulated ride of 2008. [...] quite possibly, the best mod ever created in our community.

Check their latest and greatest issue yet, over at www.autosimsport.net

We don't want to make the usual "thank you" speech, so this time we will express our gratitude with some more cars to drive, more manuals to read, more sounds to hear, heck even some of the existing cars will drive better...
Check our website in the following days, because the patch is coming!

Cheers!

GTLWorkshop

Last week we told you we would have published some extra, not official, cars for the Power&Glory mod. Today we are proud to release 8 variations of the Austin Healey 3000 and Lotus Elan. These cars are not official and do not come with historically correct skins and neither have a detailed tech specs page. Nevertheless they are recreated as accurately as possible. You will notice that the cars have the usual GTL Workshop attention to detail.

So why release these cars without any specific history?
Alexander "InsaneDruid" Kögel, our head artist, had created these roadsters, before joining GTL Workshop team, as standalone cars for the GTLegends game. He recently saw some 3rd party modders, converting these cars for Power&Glory and thought "why make the life of those people so difficult. Let's give them a good base to work on". So he converted the cars, cleaned up various bugs, improved them as much as he could with better modeling and texturing and called Aristotelis and Ducfreak to put the final touches on physics and sound.

So here they are, in all their hi definition glory.

  • Highly detailed modeling and texturing, including GTL Workshop's dirt trademark.
  • Templates in .psd format are included
  • Different aerodynamic drag depending on their configuration (normal roadster, low drag windscreen, with or without rear deck cover ecc), different weight and a bit less of a precise handling due to chassis flex.
  • Tweaked sounds, recreating the louder noise levels from both engine and gearbox, as well as a louder wind noise as the velocity rises.

You only have to choose the car you want, create your skin and you're ready to go with a totally compatible car with the rest of Power&Glory mod.

Say thanks to Alex for his work and have fun painting and driving these new masterpieces!

Attention: This is NOT the P&G 2.1 patch. We release these cars ONLY for 3rd party modders that wish to work on them. There is no installer/uninstaller so you need to remove them manually if needed. We do NOT recommend using these cars on a clear P&G installation that you use for league online racing if the rest of the clients do not use them either.
